Sweet Broken Leg Little Boy!

Good Morning Hound Lovers!

Yesterday NCGL was contacted about a pup in need that had been dropped off at a vet with a broken leg. We were asked if we would be interested in taking this sweet little man into our program as his owners couldn’t afford his upcoming and necessary surgery…. of course we would!

Little boy is a sweet and handsome man who will be 3 next month. He’s a happy boy and even gave us a sweet little tail wag when we went to visit him!

Little boy will be going in for surgery today to have his leg repaired by the amazing folks over at

Grandview Animal Hospital

and Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Abe! We want to thank Dr. Abe, Dr. Manesh and all of the amazing staff for taking care of this sweetheart over the last couple of days!

We also want to thank super volunteer Judy for coming to the aid of this cutie yesterday and making sure he ended up with us!

Rough estimates will put the surgery to fix his leg at about $3000. These costs could of course go up once they see what’s going on, in addition to follow up visits, his neuter, teeth scaling and boarding costs. We want to thank Grandview for their extremely generous discount but still need your help!

This has been a tough year for all of us but if you can spare a few dollars to help Little Boy out it would greatly appreciated! We couldn’t help pups like him without you!

Send good wishes for a quick and uneventful surgery and a smooth recovery!
Stay tuned for more updates and Welcome to the NCGL family Little Boy, we love you already!

2021 Calendar Casting Call!

Greetings Fellow Greyhound Lovers!

NCGL is putting out a casting call to all Northwest Canadian Greyhound League Hounds, past and present, to put their beautiful faces in our new 2021 Calendar!

We are looking for beautiful photos of adopted or fostered NCGL dogs from over the years to be featured in our new 2021 Calendar, which will be sold in an effort to help raise money for all the future hounds that go through our organization.

We are requesting photos that are in a landscape (horizontal) format of NCGL hounds – not portrait (vertical), other pets are welcome in the photo but the NCGL hound should be featured prominently. Photos have to be large and high quality and should be sent to in a .jpg format by AUGUST 25, 2020. The Calendar this year will be a standard calendar format with a large photo on the top and dates on the bottom half. Please include your pup’s name and age!

We’re looking forward to your submissions!!!
